About elections in Slovakia
I'm Bartłomiej Paruzel, and I built ElectioMap to map national elections around the world. This is the Slovakia hub on ElectioMap — it brings together the Slovakia election I cover, with the official result, vote and turnout shares to two decimal places, and, where the electoral authority publishes an official regional breakdown, an interactive map you can explore region by region.
Slovakia is a parliamentary republic in Central Europe, a European Union member since 2004 and part of the eurozone and the Schengen Area. The 150-seat unicameral National Council (Narodna rada) is elected by proportional representation from a single nationwide constituency, with a 5% threshold that rises for coalitions; the prime minister leads the government, while the president is directly elected as head of state with limited but real powers. Slovak politics is fragmented and volatile, producing multi-party coalitions. Robert Fico's left-nationalist SMER-SD returned to power after the 2023 election, forming a coalition with Hlas-SD and the Slovak National Party (SNS), and his government has taken a more sceptical line on military aid to Ukraine. In 2024 Peter Pellegrini of Hlas was elected president, and Fico survived an assassination attempt. Other significant forces include the liberal Progressive Slovakia (PS), which narrowly lost the 2023 election, along with the conservative SaS and KDH. Slovakia's export-oriented economy is heavily based on automotive and electronics manufacturing, and the country has at times seen sharp tension over the rule of law, media freedom and corruption. Elections and referendums are administered by the State Commission for Elections and Oversight of Political Party Financing.
Each election listed here has its own page with the full breakdown by party or candidate and an interactive map of the result.
Every figure on ElectioMap is taken from the official electoral authority for Slovakia — the national election commission or equivalent body that certifies the count. I enter vote and turnout percentages exactly as published, to two decimal places and without rounding, and show seat totals wherever a chamber is being filled. When ElectioMap covers an election live, the page updates automatically as official figures are released. For the full sourcing and update policy, see Data & Methodology and the Editorial Policy.
The most recent Slovakia election covered on ElectioMap is the Referendum 2026, held Jul 4, 2026. Its page has the full result with vote shares and, where official regional data is published, a map by region.
All Slovakia figures come from the official electoral authority that certifies the count, entered exactly as published to two decimal places. See the Data & Methodology page for the full sourcing and update policy.
Where the electoral authority publishes an official regional breakdown, the Slovakia election page includes an interactive map — click a region to see how each party or candidate performed there. Where no official per-region data exists, the page shows the certified national result and says so.
