Bartłomiej founded ElectioMap in May 2026 out of a long-standing interest in elections, open data and clear information design. The project grew from a simple observation he kept running into on election nights: official results are authoritative but often slow, hard to read on a phone, and scattered across dozens of national websites in different languages and formats. He set out to build a single, fast, free place where anyone could follow a count as it happened — and where the results of past elections from across the world would not disappear behind broken links and archived PDFs.
He works on every part of the site himself. On the data side, he builds and maintains the ingestion pipeline that fetches preliminary results from national electoral commissions during a live count, validates them against a strict results schema, and publishes them to the interactive maps roughly once a minute. For historical elections, he sources figures from the official certified results published by each country's electoral authority, records vote shares to two decimal places exactly as published, and links every page back to its source so readers can verify the numbers independently.
His editorial approach is deliberately narrow: ElectioMap publishes official figures and lets them speak for themselves. It runs no opinion polls, makes no projections, calls no races, and carries no political commentary. Coverage to date
Under Bartłomiej's editorship, ElectioMap has built live-results coverage and a growing historical archive spanning every inhabited continent. As of July 2026 the site carries more than 280 election result pages across 78 countries — every one verifiable directly on the site — including deep multi-election archives for countries such as Finland, Norway, France, the Netherlands, Denmark and Poland, and live election-night coverage delivered for Colombia, Kosovo, Peru and Switzerland, with each live count ingested minute-by-minute from the national electoral authority's own feed. New elections and historical results are added continuously.
How the data is verified
Every results page names its official source and links to it, so any figure on ElectioMap can be checked against the electoral authority that published it. Vote shares and turnout are recorded to two decimal places exactly as published — never re-rounded or interpolated — and pages carry the certification status of the figures they show (preliminary pre-count versus certified final results). When a country publishes regional breakdowns, the maps are built from that official regional data rather than from estimates; where no official breakdown exists, the page says so explicitly instead of approximating one. Errors reported by readers are checked against the primary source and corrected on the page itself.
Editorial responsibility
As the site's editor, Bartłomiej is responsible for which elections are covered, how results are sourced and labelled, and how corrections are handled. ElectioMap has no affiliation with any government, political party, candidate, campaign or advocacy group, and the site's advertising has no influence on its editorial decisions.
