This Privacy Policy explains how ElectioMap ("ElectioMap", "we", "us" or "our") collects, uses and protects information when you visit electiomap.com (the "Site"). We are committed to handling your data responsibly and to being transparent about the limited information we process.
ElectioMap is an informational service that displays publicly available election results. We do not require you to create an account, and we do not ask you to provide personal information such as your name, address or payment details to use the Site.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide
The Site does not have user accounts or contact forms that store data. If you choose to email us (see the Contact page), we will receive the email address you write from and any information you include in your message, solely to respond to you.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting and content-delivery infrastructure automatically records standard technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type and version, device type, referring page, and the date and time of your request. This information is used for security, to diagnose problems, and to understand aggregate traffic. We store your theme preference (light or dark) and selected language locally in your browser using localStorage; this never leaves your device and is not shared with us.
2. Cookies and similar technologies
A cookie is a small text file stored on your device. ElectioMap itself does not set advertising or tracking cookies. However, third-party services we use — in particular Google AdSense — may set cookies to deliver and measure advertising. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time; doing so will not prevent you from reading content on the Site.

We use Google AdSense, a third-party advertising service provided by Google LLC, to display ads on the Site. This helps us keep ElectioMap free to use. In connection with serving ads:

The Site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Data retention and security
Automatically collected technical logs are retained only as long as needed for security and operational purposes. We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, though no method of transmission over the Internet is completely secure.
9. Third-party links
The Site links to external sources such as official electoral authorities. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites and encourage you to read their privacy policies.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes will be reflected on this page.
