About ElectioMap
ElectioMap is an independent project that turns official election data into clear, interactive maps — so anyone can follow results from around the world in real time, for free.
What we do
Election nights generate enormous amounts of data: vote counts by candidate, by region, by precinct, updated minute by minute. Official sources publish this information, but it is often spread across slow, hard-to-read government dashboards. ElectioMap collects that public data and presents it as a single, fast, mobile-friendly map with live national totals, regional breakdowns and turnout figures.
We cover presidential, parliamentary, general, municipal and other significant elections. For elections that are currently being counted, results refresh automatically about once a minute. For past elections, we keep the final official results available as an interactive archive.
Our mission
We believe that accurate election information should be accessible to everyone, regardless of language or location. ElectioMap is available in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French and Polish, and is designed to load quickly even on slow connections. Our goal is to be a neutral, factual reference — we present numbers from official authorities and let the data speak for itself.
How it works
1. Official sources
We connect to data published by national electoral authorities — the same numbers reporters and observers rely on.
2. Automated updates
During live counts our system fetches the latest figures roughly every minute and updates the map and tables.
3. Clear visualization
Results are mapped by region with color-coded leaders, percentages and the share of polling stations reported.
4. Always free
The Site is funded by advertising, so you never pay and never need an account to use it.
Data sources and methodology
Every election we publish links back to the official authority that produced the figures, such as the Registraduría Nacional del Estado Civil in Colombia or the Państwowa Komisja Wyborcza (National Electoral Commission) in Poland. Live figures shown during a count are preliminary ("preconteo") and may change as more polling stations report; they are not the legally binding final result. Once an authority certifies the final, official count, we update the relevant page to reflect it.
We do not edit, weight or forecast the numbers. We do not make projections or call races. If a source is temporarily unavailable, we display the last successfully retrieved figures along with the time they were captured. You can read more about how each result should be interpreted in our Terms of Use.
Who we are
ElectioMap is built and maintained by a small independent team of developers with an interest in open data and civic technology. We are not affiliated with any government, political party, candidate or campaign, and we do not endorse any of them. Our coverage decisions are based on the public significance of an election and the availability of reliable official data.
