About elections in Haiti
I'm Bartłomiej Paruzel, and I built ElectioMap to map national elections around the world. This is the Haiti hub on ElectioMap. Haiti's next national vote is coming up — this hub previews it, and on election night its page will carry the official results as they are announced.
Haiti is a semi-presidential republic in the Caribbean that has gone years without elected national leadership. Its bicameral National Assembly consists of a Chamber of Deputies and a Senate; the president is directly elected by a two-round majority system and the prime minister leads the government. In practice Haiti has held no national elections since 2016: parliamentary terms lapsed, the Senate emptied, and President Jovenel Moise was assassinated in July 2021, leaving the country under transitional arrangements. Since 2024 a Transitional Presidential Council (CPT) has exercised executive authority, tasked with restoring security and organising elections, supported by a Kenya-led Multinational Security Support mission authorised by the United Nations. Gang violence that controls much of the capital, Port-au-Prince, has repeatedly forced electoral timetables to slip. Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere and faces chronic political instability, vulnerability to natural disasters such as the 2010 and 2021 earthquakes, and recurring humanitarian crises. The Provisional Electoral Council (Conseil Electoral Provisoire, CEP) is the body responsible for organising elections when conditions permit. ElectioMap will publish live results on this page if and when national voting takes place.
Each election listed here has its own page with the full breakdown by party or candidate and an interactive map of the result.
Every figure on ElectioMap is taken from the official electoral authority for Haiti — the national election commission or equivalent body that certifies the count. I enter vote and turnout percentages exactly as published, to two decimal places and without rounding, and show seat totals wherever a chamber is being filled. When ElectioMap covers an election live, the page updates automatically as official figures are released. For the full sourcing and update policy, see Data & Methodology and the Editorial Policy.
The next national election ElectioMap is tracking in Haiti is the Presidential & Parliamentary 2026, scheduled for Aug 30, 2026. Live results will appear on its page as soon as counting begins.
All Haiti figures come from the official electoral authority that certifies the count, entered exactly as published to two decimal places. See the Data & Methodology page for the full sourcing and update policy.
Where the electoral authority publishes an official regional breakdown, the Haiti election page includes an interactive map — click a region to see how each party or candidate performed there. Where no official per-region data exists, the page shows the certified national result and says so.
