About elections in Armenia
I'm Bartłomiej Paruzel, and I built ElectioMap to map national elections around the world. Armenia is a parliamentary republic in the South Caucasus. The 107-seat unicameral National Assembly (Azgayin Joghov) is elected by proportional representation from a single national constituency, with parties requiring at least 5% and alliances at least 7% to enter parliament. The prime minister holds executive authority and is selected by the parliamentary majority. Armenia underwent a largely peaceful political transition in 2018 when Nikol Pashinyan rose to power via mass street protests known as the Velvet Revolution, ousting the long-dominant Republican Party. Since then, Pashinyan's Civil Contract party has won two successive elections — 2018 and 2021 — with comfortable majorities. Armenia's political landscape has been heavily shaped by the 2020 Second Nagorno-Karabakh War and the 2023 collapse of the Armenian-populated enclave of Nagorno-Karabakh in Azerbaijan, which triggered a mass exodus of around 100,000 ethnic Armenians to Armenia. These events have fuelled deep divisions about foreign policy orientation, NATO and EU aspirations versus Russia relations, and national identity. The main opposition blocs include Armenia Alliance (linked to former President Robert Kocharyan) and I Have Honour Alliance (linked to former President Serzh Sargsyan). Armenia held its most recent parliamentary elections in June 2026, with Civil Contract retaining its majority. Official results are administered by the Central Electoral Commission of Armenia (cec.am).

Every figure on ElectioMap is taken from the official electoral authority for Armenia — the national election commission or equivalent body that certifies the count. I enter vote and turnout percentages exactly as published, to two decimal places and without rounding, and show seat totals wherever a chamber is being filled.
